GREAT START READINESS PROGRAM

Our Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is designed for children that reach their 4th birthday before September 1st of the current school year.

OVERVIEW

The Great Start Readiness Program is funded through a grant from the Michigan Department of Education. It is governed by the guidelines and regulations that are established by the Michigan Department of Human Services. Children may qualify based on income levels and risk factors, as well as reside in any school district within the Calhoun Intermediate School District. To apply for this program, applicants must go to www.mychildneedspreschool.com

This program follows the HighScope curriculum which is an active learning curriculum. Our program presents academic skills to the children through exposure and we do not stress mastery at this time. The smaller teacher to student ratio allows for an intentional classroom environment that supports the needs of individual children. Our program provides many opportunities for children to practice and repeat successful activities as well as face new challenges. This is an all day program that runs Monday through Thursday from 8:00am-3:00pm.
